GAINESVILLE -- Gainesville High used big play after big play to turn a 7-0 halftime lead into a 27-0 win over North Hall on Friday night at the Brickyard.
Red Elephants quarterback Blake Sims and running back Teryan Rucker each converted big touchdown plays in the second half, as Gainesville picked up its fifth win in seven seasons over North Hall and remained undefeated this season (4-0).
Meanwhile, Flowery Branch also pulled away late for a 24-7 win over Chestatee at the Branch.
In Cleveland, White County picked up a hardfought, 24-21 win over West Hall, snapping the Spartans' three game win streak. And Johnson defeated Pickens 33-14.
In Bogart, Riverside missed a field goal with no time left on the clock to fall 23-21 to North Oconee.
