ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech's football team will open the Paul Johnson coaching era with a home game against Jacksonville of Alabama on Thursday, Aug. 28, one of two Thursday night games on the slate.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Three of North Carolina's Atlantic Coast Conference schools will play nationally televised Thursday night games this season, starting with North Carolina State's season-opening visit to South Carolina.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU has fired basketball coach John Brady. Brady led the Tigers to the Final Four in 2006, finishing off a 27-and-9 campaign. But LSU fell to 17-and-15 with a 5-and-11 conference record the next season and things have just gotten worse. The Tigers are 8-and-13 this season.
