WASHINGTON -- Everybody appreciates an underDawg, including Stanley Burrell and his Xavier teammates. So Burrell and the rest of the Musketeers, members of the not-enough-respect Atlantic 10 Conference, gathered at coach Sean Miller's home last weekend to watch the SEC tournament final, rooting for Georgia to complete its out-of-nowhere surge to that title.

ATHENS -- Tasha Humphrey is ready for her final college run before she takes her talents to the WNBA. On Sunday, the former Gainesville High School standout and No. 9 seed Georgia (22-9) will take on No. 9 Iowa (21-10) in the first round of NCAA Tournament in Norfolk, Va. Tip off will be at approximately at 2:30 p.m.

DEMOREST -- The Piedmont Lions baseball team recorded a split with visiting Bridgewater College on Tuesday, falling 4-1 in the first game before taking the night cap with a 9-1 victory.

ATHENS -- Georgia linebacker Marcus Washington, who started six games for the Bulldogs in 2007, said Monday he will undergo shoulder surgery and expects to miss the 2008 season.

Georgia women's coach Andy Landers is preparing to take his Lady Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament for the 25th time in 27 years. Georgia Tech coach MaChelle Joseph, in just her fifth season, is beginning to live up to the inevitable comparisons to the Lady Jackets' bitter rival.

ATLANTA -- Dennis Felton had nothing to say Monday, which was certainly understandable. Actually, though, Felton's silent treatment wasn't by choice. After prodding and cajoling the Bulldogs to heights no one could have imagined just four days earlier, he finally gave out.

ATLANTA -- The Southeastern Conference is still sorting out a refund policy for fans who couldn't attend the men's basketball tournament after a tornado struck the Georgia Dome.

ATLANTA -- Dennis Felton received a bear hug and some good news from his boss after Georgia's SEC tournament championship victory over Arkansas on Sunday. Athletic director Damon Evans said Felton will return as Georgia's coach next season.
