Defense again sparks Auburn win
Jake Ricks recovered a fumble in the end zone and No. 15 Auburn sent Tennessee to its worst start in 14 years with a 14-12 victory Saturday. The Vols fell to 1-3 for the first time since 1994, the second full season for embattled coach Phillip Fulmer.

No. 5 LSU holds off Bulldogs
LSU's answer to avoiding this week's upset bug was to hand it off to Charles Scott. Scott surpassed 100 yards rushing for a fourth straight game and punched in two short touchdowns, leading No. 5 LSU to a 34-24 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday night.

Longhorns crush Arkansas
Reminisce about some other great Texas-Arkansas game. This one is going down as another early season blowout for the No. 7 Longhorns. Colt McCoy put up five touchdowns in another near-perfect start, and Texas routed Arkansas 52-10 on Saturday to hand Razorbacks coach Bobby Petrino an embarrassing debut in a border rivalry famous for close games.

Navy knocks off No. 16 Wake Forest
Eric Kettani rushed for a career-high 175 yards and backup quarterback Jarod Bryant scored the decisive touchdown late in the fourth quarter to give Navy its first win over a ranked team in 23 years, 24-17 over mistake-prone No. 16 Wake Forest on Saturday.
