Georgia Southern opens with 31-17 win
The Georgia Southern Football team (1-0) opened Southern Conference play and their season with a 31-17 win over Samford (0-1). The Eagles took a 4-3 series lead with the victory and snapped an 0-3 mark since the Bulldogs joined the SoCon.

Schlechter leads Georgia State past Clark Atlanta
