Not too many surprises for local teams in the last regular season AP prep football poll.

West Hall's boys finished a dream season by finishing with the 4th place trophy at the class AAA state cross country meet.

Senior runningback D.J. Adams rushed for over 200 yards and ran for a touchdown to lead the Norcross Blue Devils to a 24-14 victory over previously-undefeated and 2nd ranked North Gwinnett Friday night, earning the Blue Devils the Region 7-AAAAA title for the second year in a row.

After the Indians from Lumpkin County (5-5, 2-3) drove the length of the field on the first possession of the game, the Warriors from White County (7-3, 4-1) did all the scoring the rest of the way to win the game 32-7 and secure the number four spot in the Region 7-AAA playoffs next Friday night.

With playoff seeding at stake, the Habersham Central Raiders (9-1, 6-0 in 8A-AAAA) defeated the visiting Heritage Patriots (3-7, 1-4) 28-0 in a dominating effort on Friday night at John Larry Black Field.

In the finale for both teams Friday night, the Johnson-Gainesville Knights avenged their 17-7 loss last year to the Pickens County Dragons by pounding them 27-6 at Billy Ellis Memorial Stadium.
