With Hurricane Helene finally moving out of Georgia, the business of high school football got back to action on Saturday around the state and in northeast Georgia.

Several teams made some impressive statements in their respective regions, as well. North Hall held off Pickens 43-27 at The Brickyard to remain unbeaten in Region 6-3A play, setting up a huge showdown in two weeks at home against Greater Atlanta Christian. Meanwhile, the Spartans also stayed perfect in 6-3A holding off a late Dawson County comeback attempt, 21-16. And Chestatee got its first 6-3A win of the season running past Johnson, 56-0, at The Dungeon.

Commerce shook off its last-second loss to Athens Academy with an impressive 42-27 win over Elbert County at The Granite Bowl. That sets up a massive Region 8-A D1 mathcup next week with Rabun County at Tiger Stadium. The Wildcats did their part on Saturday, rolling past off Providence Christian 50-14 in Tiger.

In Region 8-5A, Jackson County got its first region win with a 48-10 victory over Alcovy. Habersham Central, however, dropped a 57-43 shootout to Winder-Barrow.

And Jefferson opened its Region 8-3A schedule with a dominant 49-7 win over West Hall at Memorial Stadium.
