TIGER, Ga. — Rabun County used a 21-point explosion over a five minute span in the third quarter to blow open a close game en route to a 50-14 win over Providence Christian at home on Saturday.
The Class A Division 1 eighth-ranked Wildcats led just 15-7 at the half but Noah English scored twice and Reid Giles once, aided by two quick stops by the defense, as they ran out to a 36-7 lead. Rabun County (5-1, 2-0 Region 8-A D1) eventually led 43-7 in the fourth quarter before the Storm (1-4, 0-1 Region 8-A D1) pulled within 43-14. Shaun Fruster got the final Wildcats' score on a 70-yard touchdown run.
The Rabun County defense picked off a pair of Providence passes on the day.
It was the fourth straight for the Wildcats, who travel to Commerce next week in in a huge Region 8-A D1 battle for both teams.
