By AccessWDUN Staff

Lanier Christian Academy's rally fell one run show in a 5-4 loss to The Kings Academy on Thursday.

Kings jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second quarter and stretched it to 5-0 in the fourth inning before the Lightning answered in the bottom of the inning.

After Carter Raulerson reached on an error, Gavin Strabala drew a walk.  Camden Hohman also reached on an error, bringing Barry Waymack to the plate with the bases loaded. With two outs, Waymack greeted the first pitch with a line drive over the left field fence to pull within one.  LCA failed to score again, leaving the game-tying run on base in the seventh.

Waymack led the LCA offense with a home run and 4 RBIs, while Strabala and Isaac Dinn also added hits.

Hohman threw six innings and struck out 3. Raulerson came on in relief and held Kings scoreless.

The Lions score five quick runs across the first and second innings to set the pace in the five-inning win over Westminster Christian on the road Thursday.

Asher Stephens, Jarrett Atwill and Ricky Brown led the Lions offensive output, recording two hits each.

Atwill drove in four runs, while Stephens had three RBIs.

Henry Stewart went 3 2/3 innings allowing 2 Hits, 1 walk and struck out 4.

The Lions (2-0) will Westminster Christian again on Monday at home. First pitch is 5:30 p.m.
