An early morning fire in Banks County has destroyed a historic restaurant in the town of Homer.
Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols tells AccessWDUN that their crews joined the Homer Fire Department in response to the call for a structure fire at 1035 Historic Homer Highway, the location for the Tiny Town Restaurant. Upon arrival units found a Commercial Structure well involved with fire.
Nichols said in a press release that a defensive attack was initiated on the fire building and an exposure building, which was beginning to burn was protected. No one was in the building at the time of the fire.
The cause of the Fire is under investigation by the Banks County FD and the State Fire Marshalls Office. No injuries were reported and incident was cleared from further activity at 09:15 a.m.. T
Nichols said the restaurant was a total loss and the building next door sustained minor damage.
