JEFFERSON — Jefferson held off rival Jackson County Friday night to pin down the Area 6-3A wrestling duals title at the Jackson County gym.
The Dragons beat the Panthers 44-18 in the Area finals.
Meanwhile, the Panthers then had to hold off Monroe Area in the second-place match. Jackson County routed the Hurricanes 61-15 to take the runner-up spot.
Both teams qualified for next week's State Duals in Macon. Jefferson is the defending Class 3A State Duals champion while Jackson County finished fourth in 2019.
