DAHLONEGA — After winning the Peach Belt Conference Championship for the first time in program history, the University of North Georgia cross country team continued to bring in accolades as they were named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team by the association earlier this month. Seven student-athletes were also named All-Academic individually.

The Nighthawks compiled a GPA of 3.45, joining 156 other Division II teams named All-Academic. Individually, Emma Brown, Makayla Ellis, Kenedi Rodney, Jenna Sanborn, Emily Sims, Olivia Terwilliger and Brittany Truitt were seven of 393 women that earned the title of All-Academic.

North Georgia captured the first PBC Championship after winning every regular season meet this season. The Nighthawks finished fourth at the NCAA Southeast Regional, finishing just outside of the qualification zone for nationals.

The individual All-Academic honor was awarded to those athletes who have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and finished among the top 30 percent of eligible runners at his or her regional championships and/or the top half of the field at the NCAA Championships.
