Ola Perry Brookshire

Ola Perry Brookshire age 85 of Gainesville passed away Saturday March 21, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Brookshire was born May 19, 1934 in Dahlonega to the late Calvin & Nellie Hutchinson Perry. Ola was retired from New Holland Mill. She and her husband also owned and operated Brookshire’s Service Station in Oakwood for a number of years. She was a 60-year member of the Homemakers Sunday School class at Harmony Hall Baptist Church where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar D. “Bud” Brookshire, daughter, Ellen Brookshire Milner, daughter in law, Nancy Brookshire, grandsons, Chris Brookshire & Scott Brookshire.

Survivors include, son, Dwight Brookshire of Gainesville; daughter & son in law, Janie & Steve Adams of Gainesville; sister, Este Stargel of Flowery Branch; sister in law, Evalena Aikens of Gainesville; 10 grandchildren & a number of great grandchildren, nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 24, 2020 at the Harmony Hall Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Merck, Rev. Doug Merck & Rev. John Kinsey officiating. Private burial services will follow at the church cemetery. Mrs. Brookshire will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

The family has chosen due to the Coronavirus pandemic to not have visitation, but we will livestream her funeral service thru Harmony Hall Baptist Church’s Facebook page.
