Vernon Mathis

Vernon Randall (Randy) Mathis, age 72, of Martin, GA passed away March 9, 2020 at his son and daughter-in-law’s residence in Gainesville, GA following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, GA. There will be a visitation at 5pm and Memorial Service at 6pm. Pastor Scott Wilson will officiate. Randy was born November 7 th , 1947 to the late James and Lois (Beach) Mathis in Hall County. He attended Zion Hill Baptist Church of Flowery Branch, GA. He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (Roberts) Mathis of 52 years. His parents and two brothers James (Jimmy) Mathis and Michael Allen Mathis. Randy is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Robin Mathis of Gainesville, GA. Daughter Melissia Mathis Evans of Gainesville, GA. Son and daughter-in-law Chris and Julie Mathis of Carnesville, GA. Two grandsons Robby and Trent and other relatives. Randy grew up in Gainesville/Oakwood area until moving to Martin, GA in 2004. He attended South Hall School. He was a CDL driver for Crystal Farms. He was a over the road CDL driver, many years with his sons. Central Cremation Services, Pendergrass, GA was in charge of arrangements.
