Joye Adams

Obituary Date: Saturday, December 21, 2019

Joye was promoted to her fullest life on December 21, 2019 in Cumming, Georgia.  She was born in Lombard, Illinois on April 24, 1935 to Franklin and Ruth Wardecker.  She was married to Neil Adams on June 9, 1956.  She and Neil lived the past eight years in Cumming, Georgia.  They formerly lived in Tellico Village, TN. and Hidden Hills, CA.  

She received her B.A. in Home Economics from the University of Iowa and after marriage became a successful real estate broker in and throughout the Southern California area.  Joye, and her husband Neil, built and sold several thriving real estate companies. She was a gifted businesswoman and always had a personal touch. 

Throughout her life, Joye always cared for people with great love.  She had a big heart for the underdog. She and Neil would frequently welcome people into their home that needed a place to recover, experience God’s love, and enjoy her amazing cooking.  Joye was one of the best cooks on the planet.  Her family and friends are still savoring her special stuffing at Thanksgiving, her strudel at Christmas, and her clam chowder on New Years day.  Joye also loved little children, especially babies.

She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur, and is survived by her sisters, Kathe Pava and Juli Shafer.  She is also survived by her loving husband, Neil, and their two sons, Lon Arthur, his wife Shari, and Jon Christian, his wife Liz Anne, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren with three more soon to be born.

In lieu of flowers, charitable gifts may be made in her name to The Vine Community Church. These gifts will go to the Benevolence fund to help people who are in need.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 1 to 2PM at The Vine Community Church, 4655 Bethelview Rd, Cumming, GA 30040 with the funeral service following at 2PM. Interment will follow Monday, January 6, 2020 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.
