Harold Dean Thomas

Harold Dean Thomas, 85, of Gainesville passed away July 3, 2019 following a brief illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Curvan Mills and Mark Shumaker officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Born on February 27, 1934 in Gainesville he was the son of the late Gus J. and Nellie Mae Couch Thomas. He was retired from General Motors where he was an inspector.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his sister, Ann McDonald; son, Michael Dean Thomas; stepson, Jesse Steven Croya.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Linda Cobb Thomas of Gainesville; sons, Danny Lee Thomas of Murrayville, Steven Edward Thomas of NC, Randall Harold Thomas of Gainesville; daughter, Delinda Jo Pierce of Athens; son, Richard Charles Thomas of Gainesville; stepson, Tony Croya of Commerce; stepdaughter, Judy Anderson of Athens; daughter, Crystal Thomas of Flowery Branch; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, James R. Thomas of Murrayville; sisters, Brenda Compton of Flowery Branch, Linda Turk of Chestnut Mountain, Sandra Strzalkowski of Biloxi, MS.
