Donald P. Crivellone

Obituary Date: Friday, July 5, 2019

Mr. Donald Peter Crivellone, age 83, of Dahlonega passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 5, 2019.
Don was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 29, 1936.  He moved to Oregon as a child, graduating from Milkwaukie High School in 1954, “the class that made Milwaukie famous.”  A lifelong Ducks fan, he graduated from the University of Oregon in 1960.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Cold War.

An accomplished banker, Don held various executive positions in California, Florida and Texas before retiring to the north Georgia mountains in 2005.  A forward-thinking leader, Don was integral to the introduction of both automatic teller machines and telephone banking to consumers in southern California.

Don was actively involved in the British-American Chamber of Commerce.  He also served as an envoy to the Korean Olympic Team during the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.  A major career highlight, Don organized and hosted a successful fundraising luncheon in 1983 as the Chairman of the United States Olympic Committee for Southern California, featuring guest of honor President Ronald Reagan.

Don enjoyed genealogy, tracing all Crivellones back to Cantalupo nel Sannio in the Molise region of southern Italy.  An avid traveler, he published a memoir detailing his experiences traveling throughout Bavaria and southern Europe.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Robin Crivellone, daughters Christina Crivellone, Kimberly (Kenneth) Barr, granddaughters Lorelei and Bellamy Barr, brother Thomas Crivellone, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta, Georgia.
