Agnes Geneva Allen Jackson

Obituary Date: Friday, December 21, 2018

Agnes Geneva Allen Jackson, 95, of Opelika, AL, formerly of Gainesville, GA passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Griffin and Rev. Craig Richard officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born on May 27, 1923 in Cleveland, GA she was the daughter of the late Claud and Mag Nola Ashe Allen. She was retired from Coronet Carpet Industry.  A graduate of White County High School and Habersham College. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jackson was a giving person, who would do for others before she would do for herself and always looked for the bright side. She enjoyed sharing tales from her life with anyone who would listen.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her brother, L.G. Allen; sister, Claudine Lewis and husband of 57 years, James H. Jackson, Sr.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her son, James (Jan) H. Jackson, Jr. of Gainesville; son, Joffrey Jackson (Desan) of Cumming; daughter, Judy J. Pruitt of Opelika, AL; sister, Jean Wallace of Gainesville; grandson, Nick Pruitt (Jenny) of Omaha, NE; granddaughter, Neva Gulsby (Will) of Opelika, AL; granddaughter, Susan; great granddaughter, Elise “Ellie” Gulsby of Opelika, AL as well as a number of other relatives.
