Clifford Leroy Tyson, age 92, of Cumming, passed away on August 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lerah Sterling Tyson; infant son, Johnny; sisters, Aline Coleman, Lorraine Comeaux, Myrtle Griffin, Thelma Stripling; brothers, Robert Tyson, Junior Tyson, James Griffin.
He is survived by his children, Charlene (Jimmy) Hutchinson of Adel, Marilynn (Bobby) Walker of Cumming, Ed (Debbie) Tyson of Buford, Angela (Scott) Carlin of Cumming; grandchildren, Sherry (Chris) Johnson, Brian Hutchinson, Tiffany Baker, Dustin (Jessica) Baker, Joni (Chris) Smith, Meredith (Joey) Baggett; great grandchildren, Caleb, Josh, and Seth Dixon, Natalie and Ansley Baker, Strider and Victoria Smith, Blaze Baggett, Allie Johnson & Emma Wetzel; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive.
Mr. Tyson was a loving husband, father, "Paw Paw", and great granddaddy. He was a self-employed Tile Contractor and Owner of Tyson Tile Company. He was one of the most sought-after Tile Contractors in the Atlanta area in his 50 year career. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He loved music, dancing, and entertaining others with his Elvis and Conway Twitty impersonations. He never met a stranger and was a great friend to everyone. Mr. Tyson was a WWII veteran who served with 35th Division, Battery B, 216th Field Artillery. Clifford fought in 5 Major Battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes (Battle of The Bulge) and Central Europe. His Medals include American Service, Good Conduct, WWII Victory and European-African-Middle Eastern Service with 1 Silver Star.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Williams & Rev. Danny Bennett officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 21st at 1:30 pm with the funeral procession departing Ingram Funeral Home at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
