Mr. Glendon Willard Shadburn age 83 of Talmo passed away on Friday August 17, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday August 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Joel Shadburn and Reverend Chris Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday August 19, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Shadburn was born on March 27, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late John Elbert Shadburn and Dahlia Vaughan Shadburn. He was retired from Johnson and Johnson and was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakwood. Glendon was an avid Hunter, Farmer, and fisherman. Riding horses was also a passion of Glendons and he especially loved to ride horses in parades. He is preceded in death by his parents, 9 brothers and sisters, and son, Wallace “Slim” Shadburn.
Glendon is survived by his wife of 62 years Grace Pirkle Shadburn of Talmo, son and daughter-in-law, Harold G. and Connie Shadburn of Jefferson, son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Lisa D. Shaburn of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Douglas W. and Mary L. Shadburn of Talmo, sister, Viola Pirkle of Oakwood, brother and sister-in-law, Marcus E. and Joann Shadburn of Gainesville, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Nancy S. Shadburn of Auburn, Ga, and a number of nieces and nephews.
