Clyde Edward Turner

Mr. Clyde Edward Turner, age 79 of 29 Lucille Lane, Toccoa passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A son of the late Otis Jewell Turner and Ora Townsend Turner, he was born October 11, 1938 in Union County, Georgia having lived in Stephens County for most of his life. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with Vermont American with 20 years of service and later was a Captain with the Toccoa Police Department and a Deputy with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Turner was a loving husband and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Brady Turner.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Herb Turner and wife Gail of Dalton, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Friday, January 26, 2 O’clock p.m. at Griffin First Assembly Northeast, 390 A Grandis Heights Circle, Clarkesville, Georgia with Stanley Eller and David Nix officiating.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Carnes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
