Mildred Viola (Cheek) Rousey

Mildred Viola (Cheek) Rousey of Dahlonega, Georgia was born August 29, 1929 and joined the Lord from her home surrounded by family and friends on September 9, 2017.

Mrs. Rousey was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Albert Robert Rousey, Jr., on November 18, 2013.

Mildred grew up in the heart of Atlanta and was married to Albert in 1948. Together they moved to Florida and, having no children of their own, went to great lengths to adopt both Mark and Lisa with whom they built a loving family. Albert served in the US Marines and was active in the Shriner's organization. Mildred kept hearth and home together, caring for her children, supporting Albert in his career and developing an ever widening clan of friends and loved ones. She enjoyed entertaining and traveling and was an avid reader.

Mildred is survived by two children--her son, Mark Robert Rousey and her daughter, Lisa Elaine (Rousey) Harbin. She leaves behind five grandchildren--Shannon Marie Cebrian, Michael Anthony Rousey, Nicholas Robert Harbin, Stephanie Lynn Shannon, and Melissa Renae (Shannon) Cherrybone and also five great grandchildren--Skyler Ryan Potts, Cody Evan Potts, John Michael Cherrybone, Zoey Jean Cherrybone and Shiloh Renae Rousey.

She will be memorialized on August 17, 2017 at the Dahlonega Funeral home, Located at 20 Gibson Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
