Loy Rothell

Loy Rothell, age 83, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Loy was born in Habersham County to the late Luther Rothell and Pearl Jones Rothell.  Loy retired as a truck driver from Acree Oil and was a member of Habersham Baptist Church.  Loy proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  In addition to his parents, Loy was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Rothell Nix; brothers, Avery Rothell, J.B. Rothell, Hugh Rothell, and Jesse Rothell; and sister, Mary Jane R. Miller.    

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Elrod Rothell; two sons and daughters in law, Brian and Sherry Rothell, and Jason and Krista Rothell; son in law, Ricky Nix; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Rothell (Sara), Jonathan Nix (Courtney), Nathan Rothell (Jessi), Matthew Nix, Kezia Blair (Corey), and Tyler Rothell; four great grandchildren, Cayden Chambers, Bryce Nix, Connor Rothell, and Aiden Rothell; and brother, Charles Rothell. 

The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Hillside Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Habersham Baptist Church.  Reverend Doug Porter will officiate.  Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
