Buford Whisenant, Jr.

Funeral services for Buford Whisenant, Jr., age 71, of Clarkesville will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Larry Free will officiate with interment to follow the service in Old Nacoochee Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Whisenant passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016.

Born on May 22, 1945 in Habersham County, Mr. Whisenant was the son of the late Buford Whisenant, Sr. and Willene Youngblood Whisenant Ivester. Mr. Whisenant was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and he was a retired shop forman with Habersham County Board of Education with 37 years of loyal service.

Survivors include his wife Catherine Cash Whisenant of Clarkesville, daughter Dee Whisenant Couter of Clarkesville, son and daughter in law Evan and Casie Whisenant of Clarkesville, and grandchildren Wesley Couter, Violet Whisenant, and Dylan Whisenant.

The family will receive friends at Hillside MemoI rial Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
