Josephine Adams Franklin

Josephine Adams Franklin, age 74 of Demorest, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 08, 2016 following an extended illness.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on January 02, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee “Papa Coon” & Mary Jane Smith Adams. Mrs. Franklin was retired from Habersham Electric Membership Corporation with over 30 years of service. She also worked for the Habersham County Emergency Management Agency for 20 years starting when it was known as Civil Defense. Mrs. Franklin enjoyed cooking and often catered weddings/special events for many people. She loved her family and friends tremendously. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Habersham Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Melissa Franklin.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony & Debra Franklin, Dale Franklin all of Demorest; father of her children, Ernest W. Franklin of Demorest, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Wanda & Leonard Cagle of Oakwood, GA; grandchildren, Cole Franklin & Nicole, Drew Franklin & Adrienne, Cari Higgins & Joe, Dustin Pitts all of Demorest, GA; great-grandchildren, Addylyn Franklin & Thor Franklin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Anthony Franklin & the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Habersham Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5 p.m. & 7 until 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 09, 2016.
