Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Don Edward Brock, age 77, of Nicholson, Georgia, who passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016. Mr. Brock was born in Marianna, Florida, a son to Edna Iola Hill Brock of Marianna, FL, now residing in Carnesville, GA and the late Sidney Brock. Mr. Brock attended Chipola Junior College, Gulf Coast Junior College, was an Entrepreneur and a Farmer. Mr. Brock was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Commerce Ward, where he served in several leadership capacities, including District Presidency of Atlanta District, and leadership positions in Lilburn Ward and Crawfordville, Florida Branch. Mr. Brock was also a veteran of the Air National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Hellen Hamick Brock, Nicholson; son, Steve Brock and his wife Emily, of Marianna, daughter, Matilda Brock Coffey and her husband David of Loganville, son, James Wesley Brock and his wife Dawn of Nicholson, daughter, Marcy Brock Jolly and her husband Julian of Sugar Hill; mother, Edna Iola Hill Brock of Carnesville; 8 grandchildren, Whitney, Georgia, Gracie, Sydney, Shelby, James, Caitlyn and Kory; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Young and her husband Wayne of Mexico Beach, FL, Carol Lambes and her husband Alleyn of Marianna, FL; brothers, Wayne Brock and his wife Wanda of Marianna, FL and Billy Brock of Chipley, FL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2013 at 3:00pm in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Commerce Ward with Bishop Brad Day officiating and Speaker Steve Brandau. Mr. Brock will lie in state in the Church from 2:00 – 3:00pm on Thursday, prior to the service. The burial will follow in the Brock Family Cemetery in Nicholson, Georgia, with Wes Brock, David Coffey, Julian Jolly, Adam Brock, Steve Brock, Doug Cousins, Kyle Potts and Craig Brock honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm at Evans Funeral Home.
