Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Alton Maurice (Tom) Kees, age 81 of Cleveland. Tom passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 12 to 1:30 pm with graveside services to follow at 2:00 pm at Gateway Memory Park. Tom was born in Summit, MS on September 13, 1934 to the late Marvin Miles Kees Sr. and Dilia Catherine McDavid Kees. He served with honor in United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He moved to White Country in 1981 where he was employed as a Sheriff’s Deputy with the White County Sheriff’s Department for a number of years. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brothers Marvin Miles Kees Jr and Harold Kees. Survivors include his sister and husband Patsy and Matthew Kunjappy of Gallman, MS as well as a number of nieces, nephews and the many friends Tom each and every day. Tom’s request was that flowers be omitted and that memorial donations be made to Smithgall Woods Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
