Francesca Maria Capolunghi Burton

Obituary Date: Tuesday, December 2, 2014

On the morning of December 2, 2014, Francesca passed away peacefully and gracefully at her home in Cumming, GA, into the loving arms of the Lord Jesus after a courageous 20-month battle with leukemia. Francesca was the daughter of Joseph and Olga ErgastiCapolunghi who were immigrants to America from Italy in the 1930's. At the time of her passing, Francesca was surrounded by her husband Don Burton, daughter Elizabeth Burton, and cousins Monica AgostiniPucci and Stefano Agostini from Italy.
Immediate surviving family members include her husband of 53 years, Don Burton of Cumming, GA, daughter Elizabeth Burton of Skopje, Macedonia, sister Louise and Richard Reffler of Branchburg, NJ, brothers Victor and Marie Capolunghi of Middlesex, NJ, and JosephCapolunghi of Washington, NJ. Francesca also has beloved family in Italy from the Capolunghi and Ergasti families. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many close friends who loved her so dearly.
Francesca was born in New Brunswick, NJ and moved to GA in 1971 with her husband, Don, and they never left! She was an A-Level ALTA tennis player at both the Atlanta Athletic Club in and Dunwoody Country Club. Francesca worked as an Executive Assistant at Astecnologies, Inc. in Roswell, GA for 25 years and at Vanity Fair Intimates in Alpharetta, GA. She was a follower of Jesus Christ and attended and volunteered in Waumba Land at North Point Church in Alpharetta, GA and also attended Browns Bridge Church in Cumming, GA.Francesca was known for her unconditional love, high spirit, her love of life, and positivity. Throughout her life she spent much time mentoring many women. Francesca had a heart for people, for our country, America, the US Military, children, and animals.
Visitation will be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:30pm-9pm. Another visitation opportunity at Ingram will be on Saturday from 10:30am-11:30am with a memorial service celebration of her life starting at 11:30am.
