Marion Cantrell

Marion Cantrell age 80 of Sautee passed away Friday June 20, 2014 at his residence.

Marion was born in White County on, July 27, 1933 to the late Elijah Cantrell and Sarah Francis McClure Cantrell. In addition to his parents, Marion is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Daniel Cantrell, Fred Cantrell, Kate Sosebee Welborn, Della Abernathy, Louise Baker, Ethel Cash, Susie Kastner and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arles and Drucie Benfiel. Marion was a lifetime member of Bethel Baptist Church and had a love for music. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Rachel Benfield Cantrell, Sautee; son, Tyra Cantrell, Sautee; son and daughter in law, Dennis and Denise Cantrell, Cumming; daughter and son in law, Teresa and Brian Chambers, Sautee; grandchildren, Michael and Carol Cantrell, Audrey Cantrell, Jason Cantrell, Frankie Cantrell, Brandon and Emily Cantrell, Shannon and William Grindle, David Chambers and Jennifer Hussain, Heather and James Dunn; brother and sister in law, Paul and Polly Cantrell; sisters, Mary Bell Benfield, Evelyn McDonald; sister's in law, Marcella Free, Bertie Sosebee; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday June 23, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Anthony Shore and Dr. Shannon Rhodes will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, all day Sunday, and Monday until 1 p.m.
