Randall Lee Smith, age 76 of Gainesville, moved to his eternal home Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.


Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Hicks, Reverend Pierce Ashmore and Reverend Bobby Griffin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 and Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Smith was born September 29, 1937 to the late Thomas Lee and Hattie Loggins Smith, of New Holland, Georgia. On August 26, 1983, Randall made Jesus Christ his Lord. He served Christ faithfully, working in church as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Nursing Home Ministries. Randall also served on The Union Grove Campground Committee. He attended New Haven Congregational Holiness Church in Gainesville.


Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara A. Martin Smith of Gainesville, brother & sister-in-law, Ralph W. & Christie Smith of Gainesville, sister & brother-in-law, Claudine & Floyd (Tiny) Pittman of Gainesville, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Lanier & Frances Tatum of Gainesville and Kenneth & DeJuan Martin of Gainesville, sister-in-law, Betty K. Tatum of Gainesville, special cousin and husband (like a brother to Randall), Shirlene & Rick Hewell of Gillsville, one niece and a number of nephews and great nephews.


A special thank you to all family and friends for your prayers, cards, food, phone calls and flowers. Your expression of love has helped us through this sad time.
