Kenneth Eugene Dorsey

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Kenneth Eugene Dorsey. age 79 of Cleveland. Mr. Dorsey passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Bret Penland and Rev. Rondal Garmon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Kenneth was born in White County on July 24, 1934 to the late Bethel Dorsey and Mary Drue Hanie Dorsey. Growing up, Kenneth's parents instilled in him the importance of following the examples of Christ as well as the value of honesty and hard work..Kenneth would keep these values his entire life, serving with honor in the United States Army in Germany, and serving as a Deacon in his church, Woodlawn Baptist. As a self employed business man, over the years Kenneth was involved in many business ventures, one of which was Lanier Paint and Decorating which he founded and later retired . Kenneth will always be remembered for his hard work, dedication to God, his family and friends and his sense of humor

In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Elliot.

Survivors include his wife, Frantie Lavada Dorsey, Cleveland; daughter, Pamela Dorsey Howard of Jefferson; son, David Dorsey, Gainesville; sisters Mary Helen Brewer of Gainesville, Shelby Jackson of Lilburn and Judy Richardson of Cleveland; grandchildren include Derek Howard, MIranda Dorsey, Shay Pardue, Kayla White as well as 8 great grandchildren

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 6 to 8pm
