Richard Lamar Thomas

Mr. Richard Lamar Thomas age 67 of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday January 16, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday January 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Free Chapel Worship Center with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Dewayne Welborn will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday January 18, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.


Mr. Thomas was born on September 14, 1945 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late J.W. Thomas and Dorothy Lou Gailey Thomas. He was retired from Department of Treasury as a Computer Analyst and was a member of Free Chapel Worship Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Margie Thomas, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bill Moose.


He is survived by his wife, Sarah Thomas of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Denice and David Lytle of Fairmont, West Virginia, son and daughter-in-law, John and Jena Bustle of Chantilly, Virginia, son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Valerie Bustle of Chantilly, Virginia, daughter, Sherri Brooks of Gainesville, daughter, Victoria Thomas of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Dewey and Elaine Thomas of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Dewayne and Paulette Thomas of Fairburn, sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Tommy Justice of Dahlonega, brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Carol Jones of Owens Crossroad, Alabama, 11 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren.
