Jason Joseph Rogers

Jason Joseph Rogers Jr, age 18 of Dahlonega, GA died Monday May 14, 2012 at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta/Egleston.

Jason Joseph Rogers was a shining light in our world. He touched each and every person that he had ever met, and taught us all what true strength really was. He was such a caring person, he always put everyone first. He loved animals, and any stray that approached him was always welcome in his arms. He loved music and he was constantly listening and singing along to his favorite songs, even at the annoyance of others.
He knew how to make us laugh and he could always brighten up a dark situation. He was so full of joy and he was always smiling, even in the end. He was proud of whom he was, and he didn't mind voicing his opinions to everyone who was listening. His life was a blessing to everyone it touched, and he will be dearly missed. Hope heaven is full of pickles, because Jason is always hungry.

Jason was a student at Lumpkin County High School.

He is survived by his mother, Janiene Holgate, Dahlonega, GA; father Jason Rogers Sr., Louisiana; adopted father, Benny Powers, Dahlonega, GA; brothers, Cody Rogers and Shawn Holgate, both of Dahlonega, GA; sisters, Shanell Caperton, NJ, Jozetta Juarez, Dahlonega, GA; adopted sister, Carol Perea, Dahlonega, GA; grandparents, Verna Morris, Dahlonega, GA and Linda Chaisson, Louisiana; very special friend, Ramone Goodwin, Dahlonega, GA. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:30 PM Wednesday May 16, 2012 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Les Fuller will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday from 6:30 PM until 9 PM.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
