John "Mike" Tart

Obituary Date: Thursday, September 16, 2010
John "Mike" Tart, age 62 of Demorest, left this earth on September 13, 2010 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by wife of 42 years Linda Tart, daughters Angela (Shawn) Easters and Amy Thornton, grand daughter Tori Thornton, sister Rita (Don) Segui, several cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as extended family Herbie and Sheila Greenleaf, godson Michael Greenleaf, Abby Bruce, Max, Lily, and Rocky.

He is preceded in death by his parents John W. and Mary Tart, brother Charles Tart, and grandson Dillan Thornton.

Mike was born and raised in St. Augustine, Florida. He retired from the United States Postal Service with 30 years of service. He then moved to the mountains of Northeast Georgia to spend his retirement years. Mike loved sports, especially football and golf. He loved old cars, rock and roll and he loved traveling throughout the mountains. Mike lived life his way. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and co-worker. Mike brought an infectious sense of humor wherever he went. He will be sorely missed by his many family and friends.

The family will gather for a time to celebrate Mike's life at the Hampton Inn Banquette Hall, 430 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine Beach, Florida 32080, on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
