Mrs. Nellie Reed

Mrs. Nellie Caroline Reed, age 85 of Cleveland passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Friendship Healthcare following an extended illness.

Mrs. Reed was born in Ballground, GA on October 26, 1924 to the late Daisy Mae Elliot and Jesse Franklin Sumner. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Reed, sons, James L. Reed and Roger D. Reed. Mrs. Reed was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Alice Morgan and Ruby Adams both of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Sue and Mike Wilkins, Buford; Connie and Royce Shadburn, Flowery Branch; sons, Toy Reed and Richard Reed both of Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Terry Reed, Cleveland; Edward and Christine Reed, Cleveland; Donnie and Sonja Sumner, Conyers; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Sunday, January 31, 2010 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Fortner and Rev. Matthew Mote will officiate. Interment will follow in the Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
