Kenneth Wayne Turk, age 57, of Oakwood, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Phil Carpenter will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Turk was born September 20, 1952 in Hall County, to Marvin L. Turk and Jessie Dean Garrison Turk. He graduated from South Hall High School in 1971 and attended Lanier Technical School. Kenneth was employed as a Machinist with Cummins Engine in Flowery Branch. Kenneth loved fishing, hunting, was a Georgia Bulldog fan and was a die hard Dale Earnhardt fan.
Mr. Turk is survived by his father, Marvin L. Turk of Oakwood; his mother, Jessie Dean Turk of Gainesville; his sister & brother-in-law, Myra & Mike Parker of Oakwood; niece & her husband, Alana & Dr. Braxton Turner of Gainesville; nephew & his wife, Jon & Katie Parker of Flowery Branch; nephew, Josh Parker of Oakwood; great-nieces, Taylor Ruth Turner and Zoë Parker; great-nephews, Bailey & Luke Turner; special aunt Helen McDonald; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friends Terry Wilburn & Mark Clements.
