Mrs. Darris Evans Kinney, age 87, of Mt. Airy, GA, died Monday, January 12, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Kinney was born on November 28, 1922, in Jackson County, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Jackson Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, N.B. Bernas Kinney. Mrs. Kinney attended the Central Heights Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, James Kinney, Mt. Airy; her grandson, Mark Kinney, Mt. Airy; her great-granddaughter, Autumn Kinney, Mt. Airy. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with Rev. Wayne Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.
