Little-Davenport Funeral Home announces the death of Paul Patrick Pressley, age 89, of Coker Road, Gainesville who died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2005 at White Plains Baptist Church in Jackson County with Reverend Harold Gaines officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Pressley was born March 17, 1916 in Jackson County to the late Ed Pressley and Mae Foster Pressley. He lived most of his life in Hall County where he worked as a farmer and pulp wooder before retiring, and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Mr. Pressley served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Fayelene Pressley; Faye Pressley; sons, Jerry Pressley, Carl Randall Pressley, and his loving wife, Maggie Ruth Martin Pressley.
Survivors include daughters, Elaine Martin, Gastonia, North Carolina; Barbara Cochran, Doris Hewell, Gainesville; Paulette Stewart, Jefferon; Kathy Norris, Debra Johnson, both of Gainesville; sons; Sammy Pressley, Maysville; Larry Pressley, Gainesville; Stanley Pressley, Homer; Ray Pressley, Ronnie Pressley and Eddie Pressley, all of Gainesville. Also surviving are 50 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Hicks, Monroe; Claudie Mae Martin, Atlanta; and Lola Smallwood, Winder.
Little-Davenport Funeral Home of Gainesville is in charge of arrangements.
