McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia announces the death of Bonnie Brown Armour, age 89 of Alto, who died Wednesday, March 01, 2006, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Hall County May 02, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Cranford and Arizona England Brown. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and canning and was a member of Baldwin Church of God/The Torch.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jiles Armour; sons, Troy Armour, Larry Armour, and Glenn Armour; brothers, Bill Brown, Paschal Brown, Claude Brown. Ben Brown, Curtis Brown and Anderson Jack Brown; sisters, Ellen Barrett and Sarah Ramsey.
Surviving are daughter, Janice Blackwell, Cornelia; daughters and sons-in-law, Omazelle and Hoyt Parsons, Alto; Ruby and Reece Simmons, Baldwin; sons, William "N.C." Armour, Gainesville; Jimmy Armour, Baldwin; sons and daughters-in-law, Luther "Luke" and Barbara Armour, Gillsville; Cecil and Edna Armour, Homer; Earl and Linda Armour, Alto; Ricky and Sandra Armour, Baldwin; sisters-in-law, Joyce Armour, Kathy Armour, both of Alto; 35 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM Friday, March 03, 2006, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Reverend Paul Morris, Reverend Rich Hulsey, and Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Springs Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, March 02, 2006.
