Dorothy Belle Oliver Rucker

Memorial Park Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Dorothy Belle Oliver Rucker, age 86, of Athens Highway, Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, Georgia following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, April 17, 2006, at the New Life Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The Reverend L. C. Teasley and Reverend George R. Rucker will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM Sunday, April 16, 2006 at the funeral home, with a Memorial Service to follow from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Greater Timberidge Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Byrd Rollis Oliver and Beaulah Rucker Oliver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Rucker, and her daughter, Reelah Vern Rucker Young.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Reverend George R. Rucker and Joyce, Gainesville,and Rheumar and Eva Rucker, Savannah, Georgia; granddaughter, Kyndra Rucker, Atlanta; granddaughters and husbands, Greer and William Peters, Memphis, Tennessee; Rahquay and Antwan Youmans, Savannah, Georgia; granddaughters, Johnnice Young, Gainesville, and Belnetter Young, Gainesville; four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, special nephew, Rojene Bailey, Atlanta; special nephew and wife, Maxie L. Bailey and Ruth, Durham, North Carolina; and special niece, Vonary Jackson, Chicago, Illinois.

Memorial Park Funeral Home of Gainesville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
