Donald P. Winkler

Mr. Donald P. Winkler, age 75, of Dahlonega, Ga. died Wednesday May 10, 2006 at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, Ga. following a short illness.

Mr. Winkler, a native of White County, Georgia, was a retired mechanic and timber cutter, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late John and Annie West Winkler and was also preceded in death by a Sister: Malinda Horton and an infant brother.

Mr. Winkler is survived by Daughters: Dr. Donna & Bryan Whitfield, Dahlonega, Ga., Joan Winkler, Cornelia, Ga., Sons: Aaron Winkler, Dahlonega, Ga, David Winkler, Dahlonega, Ga., Sisters: Betty Jane Sutton, Cleveland, Ga., Wilma Rider, Dahlonega, Ga., Grandchildren: Bryan Whitfield, Nathan Whitfield, William Whitfield, and Brittany Grillo. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Winkler are scheduled for 2 P.M. Friday May 12, 2006 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Rev. J.R. Fields officiating.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in White County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. and again on Friday from 12 Noon until 2 P.M.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
