Born on August 5, 1938, in Point Peter, Georgia, Sanford lived a life characterized by hard work, family devotion, and service to his country.
A proud veteran, Sanford served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966, where he exemplified the values of discipline and commitment to a greater cause. Following his military service, he channeled his skills into a successful career as a self-employed businessman, operating Sonny's Fabrication for 20 years. His work not only provided for his family but also reflected his craftsmanship and dedication to quality.
Sanford’s legacy is carried on by his two sons, William Frankie Kellum and Michael W. (Dell) Kellum, as well as one cherished grandchild. He was a loving father and grandparent, grounding his family with love, wisdom, and enduring support.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jerry and Inez Holcomb Kellum, his beloved spouse, Delores Faye Buie Kellum, and his sisters, Dot Wilson and Connie Kessler. The memory of his loved ones who have passed will forever be honored in the hearts of those who knew him.
The family will hold a visitation in his honor on December 16, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA, 30529. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Sanford's remarkable life and enduring spirit.
