Irena Jackson
Today we celebrate the life of our sweet, wonderful , humble , sincere, loving , faithful mother, sister and friend.
Irena Jackson was born March 10, 1933 in Gillesville , Georgia to the late Isaiah Buffington, and Nanny Hayden Long Street. Russ and Imma Hayden were her grandparents. God called her home on April 5, 2024.
Preceding her in death, are her loving parents , grandparents , Sisters: Idea Randolph, Addie Joe Buffington, Margret Parham, Grace Longstreet , Dessa Longstreet , Rachel Longstreet Brothers: Raymond Scott, Joe L. Longstreet , Son: Dexter Jackson , Daughter:
Anetta Lavern Brown . She received her education at Buehler Rucker. Irena excepted Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill church in Gillesville Georgia where she grew up .
Irena was united in marriage to Isaiah Buffington together they had eight children:Dwight, James ,Edward , Juanita Jackson, Bernice Jerrells , and Valerie Mahaffey.
Irena was employed at Pilgrim pride for 47 years . She was a great role model . She loved working , playing the guitar, dancing , meeting people , riding to the mountains w/ her sisters , watching TV , talking and loving her family.
On Friday, April 5, 2024 while at her home the Lord called home one of his good and faithful servants and gave Irena her wings.
Left to cherish her memories are her devoted and loving children - Dwight ,James, Edward, Juanita, Bernice, and Valerie ; her grandchildren - Anika, Tara , Zachary, Paige, Xochittll and Elsalvador . Her Great grandchildren- Tamijah Chandler, Zamaria Mendoza Christopher Roundy , Serenity Cheeks .

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00PM. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024 between the hours of 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
