Chester Howard Willis, Jr.

Obituary Date: Monday, April 8, 2024

Mr. Chester Howard Willis, Jr. age 85, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday, April 12, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm Friday, April 12, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Reverend Adrian Niles will officiate.

Mr. Chester Howard Willis Jr. was born in Elberton, Georgia on July 26, 1938, to the late Chester Willis and Everlena Thompson Norman. Chester fought a good fight and transitioned into his brand-new life on Monday, April 8, 2024.

In 1957 Chester married the late Marion Louise Lewis and they later created long-lasting memories to share with their loved ones. Chester retired from ConAgra Feedmill where he had over 40 years of service in management. Chester was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, making his famous “HASH”, singing in gospel groups (Souls of Calvary and The Norman Brothers), and last but not least spending time with his loved ones.

Chester is preceded in death by his loving wife: Marion L. Willis; one sister: Ora Jean Lewis; one granddaughter: Jessica Willis 

He is survived by four daughters: Linda (Rev. Adrian) Niles of Clermont, Georgia; Jacqueline J. Willis and  Gretchen (Baby Ray) Stovall Jr. both of Gainesville, Ga; Jazamine (Nicholas) Tate of Killeen, Texas; Two sons: Chester O’Neal Willis and Telly Jones both of Gainesville, Ga; One sister: Carrie Hutchens of Gainesville, Ga; two brothers: James (Lora) Willis and Budell (Joyce) Willis, Sr. both of Gainesville, Ga. fifteen grandchildren: Mica Johnson, Julian (Khalilah) Johnson,  Katrina, Christina, and Christopher Randolph, Chester “Lil Chester” Willis, Tavius (Ashley) Willis, Whitney Finch, DeAnna Stovall, Telia Jones, Jayden, Jaymee, Jaci, and Jeremiah Tate; Fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of sisters and brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Special Nephews: Stanley Dean, Kelvin Willis, Fred Willis, Budell Willis Jr., and Phyllis Hester
