Mary Ann Dorsey Mickler

Mary Ann Dorsey Mickler, age 80, of Alto, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Born on January 13, 1944, in Alto, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Dorsey and Virginia Ernestine Stephens Dorsey. Mrs. Mickler was a school teacher for several years before retiring from Hall County Public Schools; her passion for children was shown throughout her many years of teaching. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid traveler, and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindberg Mickler.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne Dorsey (Rita) of Winder; niece, Laura Dorsey-Nix (Chris) of Lula; nephew, Stephen Dorsey (Heather) of Gainesville; great-nieces: Mary Beth Smith (Chris), Ashlynn Westbrook, and Hope Dorsey; great-nephews: Adam Huger, Markus Huger, Thayne Dorsey, Xander Westbrook, and Joseph Dorsey; great-great-niece, Elaina Smith; great-great-nephew, Nathan Smith; stepson, Nathan Mickler of Barnesville; and stepdaughters, Wanda Mickler of Barnesville and Jennifer Mickler of Augusta.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Bobby Griffin and Rev. Jeff Worley officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
