Patricia Ann Maijala

Patricia Ann Maijala, beloved mom and grandma, was called to Heaven Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Patricia Ann Copeland was born near Cleveland, Ohio on Jan 3, 1931. She grew up in Ohio and it was there that she met William (Bill) Maijala, whom she married in 1949. Pat and Bill moved to Georgia while he attended Georgia Tech. It was while living in Georgia that she gave birth to the first of 6 children.

Upon graduating from Georgia Tech in 1953, Pat and Bill returned to Ohio where they made a home in Burton for the next several years before relocating back to Georgia, making their home in Doraville, in 1962.

Over the years, with 6 children active in sports and other social activities, Pat became the bonus mom to many in the Doraville area. She kept up relationships with many of them to this day and was loved by many. Her door was always open and her table always available. This never changed, even as the years went by.

Pat is survived by her children: Ralph (Sopit) Maijala of Mukdahan Thailand; Glen (Gail) Maijala of Santa Clarita CA; Dale Maijala of Dacula GA; Linda Peach (Craig) Robertson of Newnan GA; and Jack (Colleen) Maijala of Dacula, GA. Her six grandchildren: Auria (Mike) Gutierrez of West Covina CA; Amanda Maijala of Negaunee MI; Krescenda Maijala of Barstow CA, William (Marie) Maijala of Woodstock GA, Katie Maijala of Dacula GA and Kellie Maijala of Dacula GA; and ten great grandchildren.

She was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Bill and daughter, Ann.

A memorial will be held at her home with a date that has yet to be determined. Please reach out to her family for more information.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you honor her memory by taking a loved one out for dinner or doing something nice for someone.
