Thomas Edward Underwood

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Thomas Edward Underwood, age 86, of Pendergrass, Georgia  who entered rest Monday, February 12, 2023. Mr. Underwood was born in Pendergrass, Georgia a son of the late William Tommy Underwood and the late Stella Mae Culpepper Underwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Kinney, and Joan Cody,  and four brothers, Johnny, Jimmy, Carey and Harry Underwood.

Mr. Underwood worked as a Field Service Manager with Conagra, of Athens, GA, was a member and Deacon at Mountain Creek Baptist Church, and a member of Johnnie’s Hill Masonic Lodge # 748.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Clalrk Underwood of Pendergrass. Two daughters, Joy Underwood of Winder, and Kathy Underwood (Tera Bayard) of Pendergrass. God Daughter, Valorie Patton of Commerce, God Son, Darrell Moore of Talmo, sister, Shirley Channell of Jefferson. Brother, Charles Underwood (Jan) of Pendergrass, brother-in-law, Clelle Kinney (Shirley) of Pendergrass. Grandchildren, April Griffin, Amber Sailors, Courtney Weeks, Daniel Weeks (Kiesha), Felicia Scroggs (Soloman), Brittany Colquitt (Joseph) and Lorinda Whitley (Kyle). Great grandchildren, Jaxon, Cole, Brennan, Lincoln, Sylas, Colin, Avia, Amiyah, Dalton, Cheyenne, Anabell, Zander and Roger.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday February 15, 2024 at Talmo Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Strickland officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery with Reverend Jeff Graham officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted inside the church by Johnnie’s Hill Lodge Members.  The body will be placed in the Church at 1:00 P.M..  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers will be Mike Parker, Charles Underwood, Todd Underwood, B.J. Sosebee, Wesley Satterfield, Scott Cody, Daniel Weeks and Kyle Whitley. Honorary pallbearers will be Clelle Kinney, Bobby Joe Murphy, Steve Pearson, Soloman Scroggs, Joseph Colquitt and Junior Major.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
