Rev. Benjamin Phillip Ferguson, Phil, age 61 of Gillsville passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center with his family by his side.
Phil was born on August 31, 1962, to Jerry and Maurine Ferguson. He graduated from East Hall High School, where he met his wife and high school sweetheart, Happy Ferguson. He spent many years as an electrical contractor and local pastor. He was happiest outside hunting, fishing, and camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren who knew him as PawPaw.
Phil is survived by his parents; wife; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Craig Roberts; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Tyler Sims; grandchildren, Parker Sims, Kyle Roberts, Chelsea Roberts, and Kimber Sims; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Sheri Ferguson; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Amy Ferguson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Little-Ward Funeral Home from 5-8 PM. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Midway Church in Gillsville with Rev. Marshall Dale, Rev. Bobby Griffin, and Rev. Ken Grindle officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Church Cemetery.
