Edward McCarty

Edward McCarty, age 86 of Jefferson, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024.

Born on November 19, 1938 in Toombs County GA. Mr. McCarty was the son of the late John and Lexie Hollomon McCarty. He was the owner of North East Georgia Grading and Clearing and was an expert heavy equipment operator. He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Geneva Dill McCarty; daughters; Regina Reed (Jerry) and Angie Bery; son Roy Amos; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was blessed with fourteen brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday February 6, 2024 with military honors at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on the same day from 12 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
