Ann Parsons Schrauth

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Ann Parsons Schrauth, age 79 of Nicholson, Georgia who entered rest Friday, January 26, 2024.  Mrs. Schrauth was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Henry and Alice Virginia Parsons Schweinsberg.  Mrs. Schrauth received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from West Virginia University. Some highlights of her career include serving as Editor for the Carrollwood News in Tampa, Florida as well as working in Public Relations for the Southwest Florida Blood Bank.  After moving to the Atlanta area, Mrs. Schrauth wrote articles for the Dunwoody Crier and most recently worked in Public Relations for the Girl Scouts. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Chastain Horse Park with the Horse Therapy program for kids with disabilities and later with the Girl Scouts Horse Camp at Lake Allatoona for several years.  Ann was an animal lover, avid reader, dominated crossword puzzles, loved ketchup, spice drops and her red truck.

Survivors include her husband Charles Roberts Schrauth of Nicholson; children, Christine Huff and her husband Chris of Roswell, Catherine Linnen and her husband Mark of Lexington, Kentucky, Kevin Schrauth of Nicholson, Diane Schrauth and her husband Michael Luther of Haddonfield, New Jersey and Roberts Charles Schrauth of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; sisters, Ellen May of Oak Park, CA, Ethel Hornbeck of Shepherdstown, WV and eight grandchildren also survive.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Catholic Center at the University of Georgia.  The family will receive friends immediately following the Mass in the Parish Hall.
